About the Kalari Program
Kadathanadan Kalari Foundation successfully organized an immersive Kalari demonstration and workshop for students from Nahar International School, Powai, Mumbai. A group of 76 enthusiastic students along with 7 teachers participated in this unique program designed to introduce them to the world of Ancient martial arts.
What is Kalaripayattu?
Kalaripayattu, recognized as one of the oldest martial art forms in the world, originated in Kerala, India, and is considered the mother of all martial arts. This ancient Kalari tradition combines physical training, combat techniques, weaponry, and healing practices, making it a complete system of body and mind discipline.
Kalari Demonstration Highlights
During the event, students witnessed spectacular Kalari demonstrations featuring traditional combat sequences, weapon-based techniques, and acrobatic movements that are signature elements of Kalaripayattu training. The young audience watched these Kalari performances with amazement and excitement.



Interactive Self-Defense Workshop
The interactive Kalaripayattu workshop session allowed students to learn basic Kalaripayattu stances, movements, and self-defense techniques. The children showed great interest in practicing these Kalaripayattu moves that can be effectively used for personal safety.
