At the Kadathanadan Kalari Foundation, we believe that the true strength of a nation is rooted in the values, discipline, and cultural consciousness of its youth. On August 15, 2026, we proudly marked India’s 79th Independence Day with a series of empowering programs across our primary centers in Kammana, Kalpetta, and Ambalavayal.
This was more than a celebration—it was a reaffirmation of our commitment to nurturing a generation that honors its past while building a progressive future.
Event Highlights: Fostering Patriotism and Wisdom

- The Spirit of Nationhood: The day commenced with the solemn unfurling of the national flag by our Director, K.F. Thomas Gurukkal. Following this, our students, parents, and instructors came together in a unified chorus for the national anthem, embodying the unity that defines India.
- A Vision for Tomorrow: We were privileged to host Mr. Nandish Pethani (Principal Adviser, Health Policy Research, Tata Memorial Centre) as our Chief Guest. Drawing inspiration from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Mr. Pethani engaged our students in a profound dialogue about their role as the architects of the future, emphasizing intellectual curiosity and moral integrity.
- Honoring Our Roots: K.H. Thomas Gurukkal led an insightful session on the pivotal role of Wayanad and Kerala in the Indian freedom struggle. By honoring the sacrifices of our unsung heroes, we bridged the gap between historical struggle and modern liberty for our young learners.
